HealthZone Medical is a Family/GP practice located in the AUT Millennium building. We offer a range  of GP, Skin, Sports and Nursing services.  Our website is at https://hzmedical.co.nz/

We have been selected to offer the Covid-19 vaccine to our patients and the wider public. We have been furiously busy behind the scenes to prepare. You will have noticed new frontline staff and nursing staff recently. We also have a dedicated nurse vaccinator joining us this week.

Our soft launch for Covid-19 Vaccination will be from Friday 26 July 2021, with full launch by 2 August. We are just awaiting final sign-off this Friday from our DHB (Waitemata) and PHO (Comprehensivecare.co.nz)

Who qualifies?
Access will be guided by the Ministry of Health (MOH) priority groups.

Initially we will prioritise our enrolled patients and AUT Millennium associated staff, businesses and organisations. We will also offer the vaccine to our casual patients and any Millennium members (of gym, pool, clubs) and the wider public.

Covid19 Vaccination is free to all people living in New Zealand, even if you are not normally eligible for funded GP Health Services.

The Ministry of Health Priority groups include:

  • Maori & Pacific
  • Group 3, i.e.
    • aged 65 or over, or
    • have a relevant underlying health condition, or
    • disabled, or
    • in a position of caring for a person with a disability, or
    • pregnant (any trimester), or
    • an adult in a custodial setting.

Finally Group 4, i.e. not above, will be invited.

When and how do we book?

We will be notifying patients closer to the time, once we have be approved to “go-live”. Bookings will be able to be made in a number of convenient ways, i.e.

  • via our Patient Portal (Manage My Health)
  • via the National Booking system (“BookMyVaccine”)
  • via email ([email protected]) and telephone (09) 477 -2090
  • via website form

This is a good reason to get your Patient Portal (Manage My Health) registration sorted, if you are 16yrs or older.

Stand-by/Reserve list?

We are also compiling a reserve list of patients to call up if we have un-used or surplus vaccine on any day. Ideally you need to be one of the priority groups, and be able to get to us in 15 -20 minutes if called up.
In the interim, you can send an email to [email protected] with your details and the priority group you belong to, to get on the list.

What times will the vaccination service be available?

Initially this will be Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. But we anticipate expanding to Friday evenings and Saturdays.

Stay tuned for further notifications as we get closer to “going live”.
