Members of the AUT Millennium Gym team celebrating at the awards evening.

AUT Millennium has been acknowledged as both the Independent Facility of the Year and the Supreme Facility of the Year at the recent New Zealand Exercise Industry Awards, held at AUT’s City Campus.

Exercise NZ acknowledged AUT Millennium’s “wow factor” and “member-focused experience throughout all aspects of [the] facility” in their synopsis, while also mentioning the strength of the AUT Millennium brand.

Chief Executive Officer, Mike Stanley, says “This wonderful endorsement speaks to the high standards across our whole team, what our members see and the support behind the scenes. Congratulations to our Gym Manager Samantha Nicolson and her great team for their efforts in leading the nomination and finals process.”

Samantha Nicolson adds “We are so thrilled to be recognised by our peers and the industry body with such a prestigious award.”

Three members of the Gym team were recognised as finalists in their respective categories, which is a significant achievement:

Thomas Henderson – Group Trainer of the Year
Patrick Powdrell – Yoga Teacher of the Year
Mami Wakino – Group Exercise Instructor of the Year

We are honoured to receive this recognition, particularly in such a disruptive year for the sport and exercise industry. Congratulations to all finalists and winners – a great way to cap off 2020!
