AUT Millennium has grown substantially over the past 15 years to meet the needs of our expanding community. While this growth is exciting, it is having a large impact on our parking facilities and we are now at a point where we must do better for all our users.

From Saturday 3rd February 2018 Pay by Plate parking will be introduced at AUT Millennium. We understand this change will cause some inconvenience and we truly appreciate your understanding and continued support of our facility.

Pay by Plate: Everything you need to know

When will paid parking start?

How much will it cost to park?

All day parking will cost $10.00

Please remember to enter your details. Even if you are parking within the free period you will need to enter your number plate details at the payment machines.

What are the hours of operation?

The hours of operation are from 7:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Sunday. All parking outside these hours will be free.

Is there reserved parking?

Yes. There is reserved parking for accessibility pass holders, Rangitoto School students, medical clients and athletes. Please refer to our parking map detailing these areas.

Do I need to pay for accessibility parks?

Yes. Regular rates apply to accessibility parks.

How do I pay for parking?

Paying for parking is easy, simply follow the instructions outlined on one of the six machines located around the car-park and at the facility.

You will need to enter your number plate details before selecting the amount of time needed.

Credit or Debit cards can be used at all machines. For all cash or EFTPOS payments there will be two machines located at the entrance to the National Aquatic Centre and AUT Millennium main facility.

Do I have to enter my number plate details?

YES. Even if you are parking during the free period, you will need to enter your number plate details. Cars who are parked and have not registered at a payment machine will be issued with a breach notice.

What happens if I don’t enter my number plate?

Every car parked at AUT Millennium needs to be registered at a payment machine and this  includes those parked less than 90 minutes. Users who do not enter their number plate details are in breach of the car parks terms and conditions.

Can I get a receipt?

E-receipts will be available. Simply use the four digit pin offered by the machine and follow the instructions to register online.

What is Pay by Plate (PbP) parking?

PbP is an eco-friendly parking system that records number plates instead of printing tickets.

I regularly use AUT Millennium facilities for less than 90 minutes. Am I able to preregister my number plate details to avoid putting them in every day?

No. Unfortunately we are unable to preregister your vehicles number plate and you will need to enter your details each visit. This includes visits within the 90 minute free period.

I am a pool / Gym member who swims early in the morning. If I am leaving before 8.30am, do I still need to enter my number plate details?

Yes. We know it’s early, but if you are parked inside the operating hours of 7.00am – 6.00pm you will need to register your car, even when leaving the car park before 8.30am.

Can park several times a day for less than 90 minutes?
No. 90 minutes of free parking applies once per day. Once you have entered the car park and requested the free period this will not be refreshed. If you try to select 90 minutes free more than once a day the parking machine will not allow you to.

Will the car park restart a new 90 minute free parking period when I return at a different time?

No. 90 minutes free is only available once per day and cannot be refreshed. If you try to select 90 minutes free more than once a day the machine will notify you that you have already used your free time.
