I’m Ben Soole, the new doctor working at HealthZone Medical.
A bit about myself, I was born and raised in West Auckland and spent most of my years growing up in Massey. I attended Massey High School before moving on to the University of Auckland to study medicine. Since graduating from university, I have mostly been working in Auckland region hospitals. While working, I have also completed further study and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the University of Otago.
I have an interest in sports medicine and have started getting more hands on experience in this field over the past year. I’ve been team doctor for a number of Rugby League teams, including the NZ Kiwi Ferns, during their campaign in Australia for the 9s World Cup and a test match. This year, I hope to further expand my clinical experience in the sports medicine world and will look after the West Auckland Admirals ice hockey team throughout their season, as well as potential overseas trips to Papua New Guinea with a football (soccer) team, and India with hockey.
Outside the world of medicine I enjoy playing football and being in the gym, with my more recent pursuits, including powerlifting and bodybuilding.
I look forward to meeting you all and hope to be a good addition to the community here!
