There’s no denying it. Today, so much of success is measured on winning and so it’s become the focus, chased down at all costs.

But here’s the problem. You can’t control it.

Even if you play your best, if the opposition plays better, you lose. And then what?

On the other hand, development is in your control. Every part of it. Focus on development and you’ll increase your ability, feel more confident, and perform better.

Winning is nice. It feels good. But it’s short term and unpredictable.

Development is about the long haul. It’s about having a purpose, and creating meaning that drives you to act from deep within. When you get it right, improvement become a habit and you consistently perform at your best. Which may just result in winning.
