Tuesday and Thursday night practice is a time for improvement.

A time to focus on what’s not so good in our bag of tricks. To identify a chink in our armour and dedicate the necessary time to iron it out.

Saturday, on the other hand, is time for performance. To step up and execute to the best of our ability.

The problem is, it’s easy to mix them up.

To go into competition thinking about our weaknesses, on what we haven’t quite mastered, and about not messing up.

Which so often results in exactly that.

When it comes to performance, we need to be clear on our strengths.

We need to be aware of our superhero powers and the value we bring to the team.

Because when we focus on that, it flips the self-narrative, turns up our confidence, and results in a performance worthy our best.
