Fitness industry qualifications / experience
I have been teaching Group Fitness for three years now across a variety of programmes, from weights-based formats to HIIT (high intensity interval training) to cardio style classes.
Favourite form of exercise?
As people become more and more time poor these days, I think it’s pretty clear why there is now massive traction behind HIIT-based workouts. I am always on the go, so if a class is going to get the blood pumping and only takes 30 minutes, I am in!
What are you looking forward to now you’re part of the AUT Millennium team? Finally working in an environment that I am so incredibly passionate about with like-minded people, every day! Fitness and health has always been a huge part of my life, and now that I have the opportunity to be able to positively impact someone’s life and share my passion with others, it really excites me. Dream job!
Your message to those who might not include Group Fitness in their weekly routines?
Why not!? Group Fitness changes lives. There is something about the inclusiveness that comes with working out as a team that is so addictive. For me, it’s a place to get lost in your own individual workout while using the team around you as inspiration (and maybe a little bit of healthy competition!) Give it a go – trial a few classes and find what works for you. At the end of the day, you have to enjoy what you’re doing and once you find it, you’ll be hooked. I’d be surprised if you could stop at one class!
