Jenna CaineQ: What do you like about working at AUT Millennium?

A: The best thing I have found about working at AUT Millennium is being able to see the top athletes in among everyone else. You always see them on TV and in magazines but to see them up close and personal makes you realise how hard they work to get to where they are today. True inspiration.

Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself

A: I have always had a love of music and growing up I used to drive my Mum crazy with singing all the songs on the radio. I don’t have the best voice but I do love singing along to songs I know.

Q: Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?

A: Growing up my Gran gave everyone a nickname. My nickname was Cuddles because I used to love giving everyone hugs. My family and friends all know that I do love giving warm hugs.

Q: What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?

A: I have a few songs I love on my iPod but my favourite song would have to be “Its My Life” by Jon Bon Jovi. I hear that song and I know that I can do anything I want and be great at anything I put my mind to.

Q: What is one of your favorite quotes?

A: My favourite quote would have to be “Don’t judge a book by its cover”, there have been so many occasions where things have surprised me because I judged it too quickly. Always give people and situations a chance before judging them.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover”

Q: If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

A: My mentor and hero has always been my Dad. His business sense and his amazing personality has always made me feel proud that he is my Dad. He gets on so well with everyone and his knowledge on things always amazes me.

Q: If you could live in a book, TV show or movie, what would it be?

A: To be honest I have always loved adventure. I thought really hard on this one but I think living an Indiana Jones type of life could be interesting and fun. I’m not a fan of snakes either.

Q: If you were immortal for a day, what would you do?

A: Wow, if I could be immortal for a day I would definitely try swim in the Sardine Run. It’s a school of sardines that run along South Africa’s coast every year. The scary part is seeing all the sharks but if you watch very closely the dolphins and sharks work as a team. They circle the sardines into a ball and then take turns going in the middle to eat the sardines. I have always wanted to see that up close and personal.

Q: If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?

A: If I could master one skill that would definitely have to be the ability to play the piano. I have nice long fingers that have always wanted to dance along the keys of a piano.
