Welcome to the Athlete Development Blog – the home for parents and coaches wanting to help their kids be the best they can be.
Do You Want To Give Your Child the Best Chance of Reaching Their Sporting Dreams?
If you want to help your child or the young athletes you coach get more out of sport, then you’re in the right place!
Athlete Development is all about giving young athletes the opportunity, skills and support to be best the best they can be.
We’ve Spent Years Developing Our Programme
Athlete Development started back in 2004 as a small before school training programme. The aim was to help young athletes from all sports get fitter, faster, and more explosive, prevent injury, and improve their mental skills.
That programme still exists today, but while our aim hasn’t changed, our size and approach has evolved dramatically! Informed by a growing team of expert coaches and postgraduate research students, our programme is cutting edge in athletic and mental development for young athletes.

Athlete Development is also the home of loads of insightful and practical information for parents and coaches of youth athletes.
The blog itself has almost 120 articles and videos, but on the site you’ll also find our podcast, and a number of classes and workshops crafted to empower young athletes and P.E students with powerful new skills and inspirational experiences.
