“But coach, it’s only 5 minutes, I slept in.” You’re right, it is only five minutes. Is punctuality really that important?

The thing is that 5 minutes, 6 times a week for a year is 26 hours of missed training time.

Turn up 5 minutes early and that’s 52 hours of extra training and 26 hours more than your competitors. And we know time spent training, given it’s purposeful practice matters.

So the question shouldn’t be: “is punctuality important”, but rather: “how much do you want it?”
