Can you believe it’s already December! What a year it has been and continues to be. December is a time I like to sit down like most people I guess and reflect on everything that has been achieved and done throughout the year. My biggest achievement and highlight of the year was definitely the Olympic Games in Rio, although it wasn’t my best result I’m still very proud of my campaign and the team that helped me qualify. It was such an amazing journey with a lot of emotions and lots of happy tears. The second biggest moment was the retirement of my coach which I mentioned last month, but I am happy (and relieved) to announce that I have got a new coach, Riki. He will come on board and be a big part of the team in my build up for the Commonwealth Games – Gold Coast 2018! Let the Competitions and qualifications begin!

December is also the month which is hardest to stay motivated and disciplined with my training. I try and keep myself busy and active so I don’t eat all the wonderful Christmas goodies which start to pop up around the end of November.  The key for me is to not stop my routine and good habits! No excuses and everything in moderation! Especially on Christmas day!! Keep active so that when it’s time for the New Year’s resolutions you will be one step ahead in your fitness. I also like to enjoy the sunshine so I try to mix my training up. Especially when its sunny or when the gym is closed-go for a walk or a run about on the beach, enjoy everything our beautiful country has to offer.

And thanks to Paul Stevens I am able to show case my brand new website! http://traceyweightlifting.co.nz

Feel free to go and check it out and let me know what you think!

Finally I’d just like to thank you all for taking the time to read my little blogs every month and for all the support and encouragement I received this year……

Have a very Merry Christmas, be safe and I look forward to seeing what 2017 has in store for us.

Before I forget, 9th December, 6pm-9pm, I’m hosting the Champagne and Mistletoe Gym Members Christmas Party. I hope to see you all there, dressed to impress!
