Give a kid a skateboard, step back, and watch what happens.

Very quickly they recognise the opportunity to play.

To see what happens when they lean a little to the left, push hard to the right, or dangle one foot in the air.

To experiment freely, knowing without any doubt that falling off is part of the experience.

There’s no rush, or even an expectation of change, but clear intent to go again tomorrow.

And with time, their confidence grows.

With time, they push for a little more and try harder tricks.

With time, development happens.
